Diet
Food choice is surprisingly important in improving and maintaining eye health. You should choose foods rich in vitamins and minerals like zinc, lutein, vitamin a, vitamin e, vitamin c and rich in fatty acids, these nutrients have been shown to enhance eye health.
Exercise
Getting at least 20 minutes of exercise a day can help improve blood and nutrient circulation throughout the body, including your eyes. Exercise is also helpful in preventing obesity and diabetes which can also lead to negative eye conditions like cataracts, diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma.
Use Eye Protection
The most basic eye protection for everyday use are sunglasses, which help protect your eyes from UV light and help prevent skin cancer around the eyes. You should also be sure to utilize protective eyewear when performing activities that can endanger your eyes like woodworking, metal working or sports.
Rest your eyes
If you spend a lot of time looking at screens you should be sure to take regular breaks and exercise your eyes to prevent eye strain. One way to do this is the 20-20-20 method, which involves taking a screen break every 20 minutes to look at something different that is about 20 feet away for about 20 seconds.
Quit Smoking
While smoking isn’t healthy for any part of your body it poses some unique risks to your eyes. Tobacco smoke increases the risk of cataracts, optic nerve damage and macular degeneration among many other health issues.
Use a humidifier
