Crystal Vision Optometrist Dr. William Bercha
Dr. Bercha grew up in Calgary and attended the University of Calgary, where he received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Exercise Health and Physiology. In 2006, Dr. Bercha completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon.
Dr. Bercha practiced for several years in Calgary, Alberta, before making the move over the mountains back to the West Coast, to Langley, British Columbia.
During his clinical rotations, Dr. Bercha gained valuable experience in the areas of:
- refractive surgery
- ocular disease
- vision therapy
- glaucoma
- macular degeneration
- cataracts
- diabetes
- hypertension
Dr. Bercha is licensed to prescribe therapeutic ocular drugs for the treatment and management of dry eye syndrome, infectious, allergic and inflammatory eye conditions.
Over the years, Dr. Bercha has been a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists, the Alberta Eye See.. Eye Learn program, the Calgary Society of Optometrists, and the American Optometric Association Sports Vision and Contact Lens sections.
Dr. Bercha enjoys investigating vision from a functional perspective. He strives to address patient concerns in relation to the root cause of their symptoms. He believes that to fully understand a person's vision concerns one must also understand their lifestyle, fitness, personality, job and hobbies.
Dr. Bercha is comfortable working with children, adults and seniors: no patient is too old or too young. He is fluent in both English and French and is happy to perform eye exams in either language.
Being a recent addition to the West Coast, Dr. Bercha is looking forward to growing his patient base, and is currently accepting new patients.
